To celebrate Careers in Construction Month in October, Bhangals Construction Consultants has launched a campaign to highlight the value of choosing construction as a profession.

The Build A Career at Bhangals campaign aims to shine a spotlight on the variety of roles available in the sector – and at the company itself – through sharing engaging stories across multiple platforms from people who have built a successful career at Bhangals.

This week, the final spotlight shines on Senior Estimator Kieran Rollings.

Iconic buildings across the world inspired Bhangals Construction Consultants senior estimator Kieran Rollings to join the construction industry.

Kieran, 23, has always been amazed by notable architecture, including the Sagrada Familia, Petronas Towers and Singapore Supertree Grove and was determined to start a career in the sector.

He said: “I have been interested in construction from a very young age and became fascinated about buildings around the globe and how they are constructed.”

“Once I left school, I completed a Level 3 in construction management and the built environment at college, which taught me every aspect of the construction industry from civil engineering, surveying, architecture, health and safety and sustainable construction.”

Sharing his story

Kieran is one of the faces representing the Build A Career at Bhangals campaign, which highlights the value of choosing construction as a profession to celebrate Careers in Construction Month during October.

Climbing the ladder

Kieran joined the business as a junior estimator after a three-year college course. He has since worked his way up the ranks to senior estimator.

“My role within the company is reviewing projects to ensure we maintain high standards for our clients,” he said. “As well as liaising and consulting with clients, subcontractors and suppliers. Every day is different; no project that comes through to us is the same. This also brings new challenges and enhances my learning to help me progress within the industry.”

Kieran hopes to continue to progress with Bhangals and work more closely on client relationships and consultancy. He would encourage others to consider the different opportunities that construction can offer.
Kieran said: “I would highly recommend a career in the construction industry as there are many different pathways where you can develop, grow new skills and take on new roles and responsibilities to further your career.”
