As the acting Quantity Surveyor for this new build basement and house in Chigwell (London) we have now completed the tender process and shortlisted the final contractor. The contract has been put together and signed by the contractor, client and contract administrator. It is key for the quantity surveyor to evaluate all the tender documents and ensure everything has been included prior to start on site, this helps to weed out variations and keep the project within budget and also within time because variations will affect the project budget and timescales. From the initial tender process we shortlisted the four contractors down to the final two contractors and went on to carry out the tender analysis. As one of the leading quantity surveyors in London we will ensure that we pick out all the relevant details and make the analysis clear to the client so they can easily understand the exact implications of the tenders.
On receipt of the tenders we quickly established that the construction estimating service we offered earlier on in the planning process was very accurate and all the tenders come within a small margin of this construction estimate. We are happy to see that our construction estimating is accurate and that we can give our clients confidence that our quantity surveyor working on the project has a good understanding of costing construction projects.
Now that our quantity surveyor has completed the tender process and the JCT contract has been signed it is now time to get onto site, set up the site and demolish to existing house and get ready for the piling contractors to carry out the piling prior to the basement dig.
